Athletic Republic Helps Raise $10,000

Over the last weekend in March, Athletic Republic hosted a 1K Indoor Rowing Challenge to benefit the Park City Rowing Academy. With its membership growing, Founder Coach Niklaus Hess was in dire need to expand the PCRA fleet of boats, rigging and oars, prior to the team taking to its home waters of Jordanelle this spring. “The Park City Rowing Academy had been training at Athletic Republic three times a week all winter and we wanted to make sure the athletes had the equipment they needed to perform this season,” said Linda Graves, an Athletic Republic owner and manager. The Park City Rowing Academy members were on hand to teach technique and to cheer on participants as they completed the 1K Challenge. “The Challenge event, and generous contributions from former collegiate rowers and local businessmen, brought the fundraising total to $10,000. The additional funds have now allowed Coach Hess to expand the team’s fleet and granted him the opportunity to share his passion for rowing with more of Park City’s high school athletes,” Graves added.
