Athletic Republic of Park City is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Park City Soccer Club to provide comprehensive training in strength, speed, and stability over the summer of 2018.

The unique element of the program is a series of seven free Stability Training sessions being offered to help PCSC players develop the strength and stability needed to help prevent injuries. Female players are physiologically more susceptible to ACL injuries, and are being particularly encouraged to take advantage of this program since studies show that 72% of non-contact ACL injuries young women experience could be prevented with stability training and education. The 45-minute Stability Training sessions include a dynamic warmup and exercises to develop strength, balance, and agility. Instruction will also be provided on stretching, foam rolling, and recovery tactics.

In addition to the Stability Training program, PCSC athletes will have access to a package of six Running Mechanics training sessions. These are designed to improve running speed, focusing on form and efficiency by optimizing stride length, stride frequency, power output, symmetry, and stamina.

PCSC will also have access to a club discount for Athletic Republic’s signature Acceleration Training, which provides players with a quicker first step, better reaction times, the balance to play with both feet, and the ability to change direction at full speed. The program’s Test-Teach-Train protocol will include baseline testing and a course of 12 or 18 90-minute training sessions. Park City Soccer Club board member Maggie Hull commented, “The Park City Soccer Club endeavors to offer a best-in-class experience for our membership through a whole player approach to development. This year we have started a new Club initiative focused on providing comprehensive training to our athletes, including dedicated injury prevention training that strives to minimize injury risk, maintain health, and ensure the longevity of an athlete's career. We feel very fortunate to have the incredible resource of Athletic Republic in our community, and are confident our partnership with them will be a perfect fit to help us achieve the physical fitness and injury prevention goals we have for our young athletes.”
